Section – System Control

On this level, the administrator can control the state of an Airlock Gateway instance.

GUI

Description

Offline

In an HA cluster, clicking this button sets the Gateway instance to the offline state. This enforces the partner Gateway instance to go to the active state. A Gateway instance in the offline state does not answer requests until it is set online again.

After a Gateway instance has been set offline, the button label changes to Set this Airlock Gateway online. Click this button to bring the instance online again. The instance then returns to one of the following online states:

  • Standalone
  • Passive
  • Active

Set Active

This button is available only in a cluster setup and can be clicked only on the passive node. Use this button to promote the passive Gateway instance to the active state.

Reboot

Restarts the Gateway instance. During the reboot, the instance is temporarily unavailable. In an HA cluster, make sure that the partner Gateway instance is active before rebooting a node.

Shutdown

Powers off the Gateway instance. After shutdown, the instance remains unavailable until it is started again. In an HA cluster, shutting down a node should only be done if the partner Gateway instance is active and able to handle requests.
