Activate configuration
An IAM configuration defines the access and identity management settings for your application(s) on a specific tenant IAM instance. Within SaaS, an IAM configuration is a ZIP file. To deploy a specific configuration on a tenant instance, you must activate the corresponding configuration file.
There are two options to activate a configuration for a tenant:
- A default configuration is assigned to each tenant directly after it is created. You can adjust, activate and test this configuration via the Getting started wizard. See Getting started.
- Alternatively, you can upload a configuration file and activate it in the Activate configuration dialog. This option is described here.
Prerequisites
To upload and activate an IAM configuration in the Activate configuration dialog, the role AMC - Activate configuration is required. This role is by default part of the SaaS Administrator role, but can also be assigned separately to an administrator. See also SaaS roles and permissions.
Uploading an IAM configuration file
You can upload a configuration file in the Configuration >> Configuration files dialog.
Proceed as follows:
- Select the respective tenant from the Tenant drop-down on the left.
- Click the Upload file button.
- In the upload dialog, browse to the respective IAM configuration file.
- (Optional) Enter a description for this configuration in the Description field.
- Click Upload.
- The uploaded configuration will appear in the table with configuration files and upload history. Follow the next steps to activate it.
Activating an IAM configuration
Proceed as follows to activate an IAM configuration for a tenant:
- In the Activate configuration dialog, section Activate configuration, select the configuration to activate from the Configuration drop-down list. The details of the selected configuration appear under the dropdown list.
- Notice
If there is no configuration to select, no IAM configuration file may have been uploaded to your SaaS Management Center. In this case, contact the Airlock support for further assistance.
- Click Activate to activate the configuration.
- The selected configuration is being activated. The Activation history section shows the status of the activation process, e.g., Pending, Activating. The activation process is successfully completed as soon as the status Success appears.
- Notice
Forever activating or pending
An activation can take a few minutes to complete. This is normal. However, if the state does not change to Failed or Success, there may be an issue with your configuration. It is currently not possible to read the logs directly. Contact Airlock support for further assistance if the activation process is not resolved within 10 minutes.
Current configuration and activation history
The Activate configuration dialog displays both the currently active configuration and the activation history for the selected tenant.
Current configuration section
This section provides details of the currently active configuration, including
- the configuration name (this is either the name of the manually uploaded configuration file or the configuration specified with the Getting started wizard),
- the activation date and name of the performing administrator, and
- a description (if available).
There is also a link to the login dialog of the tenant application.
Activation history section
This section shows the activation history, including
- the activation result (Succes, Failed, or Skipped)
- activation date and time,
- who performed the activation, and
- which configuration (file).
