Usage of simple realm administration

The following table lists common operational tasks and how they are accomplished when the simple realm administration feature is enabled in IAM.

Create a new simple realm

  1. As a superadministrator, go to the Admin menu.
    1. To (re)assign an existing administrator to the target simple realm:
      • Open the profile of the administrator that will be the simple realm administrator of the new simple realm.
      • Modify or set the simple realm value.
      • Save the modified simple realm administrator.
    3. To create a new simple realm administrator, follow the steps of the task Create a realm administrator below.

Create a simple realm administrator

  1. As a superadministrator, go to the Admin menu.
  2. Use the Create Administrator button to create a new administrator.
  3. Open the profile of the administrator that will be the simple realm administrator of the new simple realm.
  4. Set the simple realm value.
  5. Save the modified simple realm administrator.

Create a new user

  1. As a simple realm administrator, go to the User menu.
  2. Use the Create User button to create the new user.
  3. If a simple realm prefix is used, append the username to the prefilled simple realm prefix.
  4. Add other mandatory context data.
  5. Save the newly created user.
