Usage of Realm Administration

The following table lists common operational tasks and how they are accomplished when realm administration is enabled in IAM.

Create a new Realm

  1. As a superadministrator go to the Admin menu.
  2. If an existing administrator shall be (re)assigned to the target realm:
    1. Open the Profile of the administrator that will be the realm administrator of the new realm.
    2. Modify or set the realm value.
    3. Save the modified realm administrator.
  4. If a new administrator shall be created, follow the steps of the task Create realm administrator below.

Create a realm administrator

  1. As a super administrator go to the Admin menu.
  2. Use Create Administrator button to create a new administrator.
  3. Open the profile of the administrator that will be the realm administrator of the new realm.
  4. Set the realm value.
  5. Save the modified realm administrator.

Create a new user

  • As a realm administrator go to the User menu.
  • Use the Create User button to create the new user.
  • If a realm prefix is used, append the username to the prefilled realm prefix.
  • Add other mandatory context data.
  • Save the newly created user.
