Incubating features
From time to time, a release of Airlock IAM may include an incubating feature. Such features allow customers to explore a new technology or aspect of the identity and access management field.
What sets incubating features apart:
- Incubating features are often based on draft standards that may change over time and, therefore, require breaking changes in the feature. Such changes may be included in minor product versions.
- Incubating features are intended for proof-of-concept implementations to explore new and innovative solutions. They may be used for production purposes if the risk of major changes in the feature is acceptable to the customer.
- Incubating features do not require licensing during their incubation period. However, they may require additional licensing once they reach maturity.
Currently, the following IAM incubating features are available:
- Self-sovereign identities (SSI)
Self-sovereign identities represent a new paradigm in identity management, placing the end-user in control of all personal data. SSI is the underlying standard for the new E-ID in Switzerland and the EUDI in the European Union. The legal base is expected to be put into force in 2026/2027. - Scriptable step overview - an incubating feature
Some Airlock IAM customers may have unique requirements that are difficult to address with a standardized product. The new Scriptable Step allows these customers to easily implement solutions for those requirements.
