SSI configuration hints

Risk

Self-Sovereign Identities is an incubating feature. It has been implemented to support the technical standards as they have been released in Switzerland and the EU at the time of publication of the software release.

The implementation uses the official beta-test platform of Switzerland and therefore cannot be used for production purposes. Should you have a project that requires a production-grade platform, please contact us.

Wallet communication

Communication with the SWIYU wallet or EUDI wallet requires a service that supports the standard protocols. For the incubating SSI feature, we use a demo platform of our technology partner Procivis. Since this demo platform requires authentication, we would ask you to contact us if you have a project where you want to implement SSI technology.

Trust infrastructure

The implementation is able to use the public beta infrastructure provided by the Swiss E-ID team. To take advantage of this platform, please consider the following preparatory steps:

  • Both issuer and verifier need to be registered with the public beta platform to be shown as trusted in the SWIYU wallet. The cookbooks published here SWIYU technical documentation provide a step by step guide on how to obtain trusted issuer and verifier credentials.
If you intend to use these features, please get in touch with us.
  • To issue credentials a Credential Schema is required and to verify credentials a Proof Schema is required. Both are managed outside of Airlock IAM.
