Section – Destination-based Routing

Destination-based routing considers only the target IP address of a packet. This type of routing should be configured for the back-end traffic of Airlock Gateway and can be configured for IPv4 and IPv6 on the corresponding tabs.

 
Functional limitation

The ​ ​Destination (CIDR) address range must not cover the Default Gateway IP address. Ensure the default gateway address is not part of the destination routes.

Description

Use DHCP

The physical interface to retrieve the default router/gateway from. This option is available for IPv4 only.

IP Address

Static default router/gateway for destination-based routing.

Automatic for DHCP interfaces (IPv4 only)

Enable configuration of static routes via DHCP for all interfaces with DHCP enabled. Static routes may be configured via the DHCP Static Route option (option 33) or via Classless Static Route Option (RFC3442).

Destination (CIDR)

Configures an IPv4 or IPv6 address or network for a routing destination in CIDR format (e.g., 192.168.1.1/24).

Destination (CIDR)

Destination network as IP address in Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) notation.

Gateway

IPv4 or IPv6 address of the router/gateway to use for routing to the specified network.

Interface Name

Interface to use for routing to the specified network.

Note:

  • An Interface Name can be configured exclusively instead of a router/gateway IP address or in addition to an IP address.
  • Some environments i.e. the Google Compute Engine (GCE) require setting an interface for local subnet routing. This allows destination-based routing directly to the selected network interface. In case of conflict, the interface is used if both the interface and an IP address of a router/gateway are configured.
