  • Community edition: Works without a license key but has limited functionality and public community support.
  • Premium edition: Requires a commercial license. Includes the full feature set and premium support.

This means that a feature is only available in a non-enforcing mode. For instance, detected attacks are logged but not blocked. Access tokens are verified, but requests are not stopped if tokens are invalid. Using the "log only" mode, features can be evaluated, but their full preventive power is available in the premium edition only.

Service life restriction

We take security seriously. Using up-to-date software is an important pillar in any security strategy. Therefore, we restrict the lifetime of releases to one year after publication in the community edition. This will motivate users to keep their Airlock Microgateway image up-to-date.

Which features am I missing with the community edition?

The community edition only supports a restricted feature set. To find out which security features would provide additional protection with the premium edition, follow the instructions in Limitations of the Community Edition.

The Airlock support process distinguishes between the Community and Premium edition of Airlock Microgateway .

Community edition

A public forum for questions and free support around the Community edition is available under Airlock Community Support Forum.

  • Posting is possible for registered users.
  • The forum is managed by Airlock employees.

Premium edition

Support with detailed analyses of your specific case and guaranteed SLAs is offered for licensed/trial Premium editions only.
