When upgrading carefully read the release notes of the corresponding release (or releases if skipping one or more versions). Especially note the section actions required when upgrading.
The simplest upgrade path consists of the following steps:
- Install new version of Airlock IAM using the installer
- Perform an upgrade of the instance configuration ("iam upgrade" command)
- Perform necessary manual upgrade steps
- Create new systemd service and replace previous systemd services ("iam systemd" command)
The installer will never automatically upgrade an instance. Running the installer will have no effect on instances running as services.
Upgrading an instance must be done explicitly and involves running "iam upgrade" and upgrading the systemd service with "iam systemd" to point to the newer version.
