The installer works with all Linux operating systems supported by Airlock IAM. Note that the Airlock IAM installer is a the self-contained application (SCA) and doesn't require additional software installation on a Linux host system. See Hardware requirements.
Standard file layout
The following table describes the standard file layout of Airlock IAM after installation on a Linux system:
Directory | Contents | Owner | Access ("airlock" User) |
---|---|---|---|
/opt/airlock-iam-<version> | Distribution of Airlock IAM of a specific version | root | read-only |
/opt/airlock-iam | Link to the most recently installed distribution directory | root | read-only |
/home/airlock/iam | Configuration files | airlock | read-write |
When performing upgrades to newer versions of Airlock IAM, the distribution directory should be replaced. For this reason writing to distribution directories in /opt
should be avoided. All configuration files should be placed into the configuration directory inside the airlock
user's home.
For improved security, distribution directories should only be writable by the root
user. Additionally, the configuration directory should only be accessible to the airlock
user.
