18.12. User-group dependent settings

Some settings in the Adminapp and in the login application may be defined differently for different user groups.

A user's group is derived from the user's data using so-called user group conditions. For each group to be considered by the configuration, a separate group condition is specified.

Examples of group conditions:

  • All users with the "company" value "SnakeOil Inc." are part of the group "SnakeOilUsers" (uses group condition plugin "Context Data User Group Condition").
  • All users having an email address ending in "@my-company.com" are in the group "InternalUsers" (uses group condition plugin "Context Data User Group Condition").
  • All users with a username containing an "@" are in the group "externalUsers" (uses group condition plugin "Username User Group Condition").

Using group conditions, any grouping can be defined. The most simple grouping is done by writing the group name in a context data field and using this for the grouping (as in the first example above).

How to configure

Some settings may be configured depending on the user's group.
