Management
10.7.1. Managing maintenance messages

Maintenance messages are managed using the Adminapp (or the Adminapp REST API) as shown in the following example.

The admin user of the Adminapp needs to have certain access rights in order to see the maintenance message editor. Please check the Access Control part of the Adminapp configuration for details.

In the overview screen, all currently configured messages are listed and a button to add new maintenance messages is presented:

Add a new maintenance message

When adding a new maintenance message, the following information has to be provided:

  • Name: an identifier for the maintenance message. It must be unique among all maintenance messages.
  • Status: each maintenance message can be enabled or disabled. This is independent of the validity time period. A message that is in the validity time period will still not be displayed if it is disabled.
  • Validity: each maintenance message is valid for a pre-defined time period. Once the message is outside this time period it is not displayed, even if it is enabled.
  • System availability: this defines whether the Loginapp is available to the end-user (Available) or if the maintenance message is presented instead of allowing access to the login application (Not available).

A valid (time-period) and enabled (flag) maintenance message marked as Not available prevents users from logging in.
