Extend web application

In order to use a specific authentication method behind Airlock Gateway, the web application needs to be extended first.

Procedure-related prerequisites

  • None.

Example values

  • Internal URL: http://sharepoint.int.virtinc.com//
  • External URL: https://sharepoint.ext.virtinc.com/
  • SharePoint Zone: Internet

Instruction

  1. In SharePoint Central Administration, go to: Application Management >> Web Applications >> Manage web applications
  2. Select the web application.
  3. Click on Extend in menu bar.
  4. Set the following values:
    • Port: 80
    • Host Header:sharepoint.int.virtinc.com
    • URL: https://sharepoint.ext.virtinc.com/
    • Zone: Internet
    • Optional: For encrypted traffic between Airlock Gateway and SharePoint
      Port: <YOUR PORT FOR SSL CONNECTION>
      Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): yes
  5. Click OK to activate the new setting.
