- Carefully read other release notes that may apply to your planned update/upgrade action.

- Minor release updates:
- Updates from any predecessor minor release (X.Y) to the follow-up minor release (X.Y+1) are possible.
- Major release updates:
- Changing from any predecessor release to a new major release requires an upgrade (new installation).
- Additional information:
- Updates and bugfixes can only be installed if they are more recent than the currently installed version.
- Hotfixes can be uninstalled (X.Y-HF001 to X.Y).
- Note that in some cases, updates from lower release numbers to higher release numbers may be restricted to specific release versions – therefore, always check the release information of the target release, you want to update to.
